C)bicycles.Correct
Vehicles required to use the hard shoulder are prohibited from doing so side by side, except bicycles, which may do so two abreast, keeping as close as possible to the right-hand edge of the road and forming a single file on sections with limited visibility or when they form traffic congestion.
In cases where overtaking is necessary, remember:
You must leave a lateral clearance of no less than 1.50 metres:
- Outside built-up areas, when overtaking pedestrians, animals, two-wheeled vehicles, animal-drawn vehicles, vehicles immobilised on the road, or breakdown vehicles while they are carrying out assistance operations; you must also occupy part or all of the adjacent lane of the carriageway.
- Outside built-up areas, when overtaking any other vehicle on a two-wheeled vehicle.
When overtaking any other vehicle or performing the manoeuvre within a built-up area, you must leave a lateral safety margin proportional to your speed and the width and characteristics of the carriageway.
