The probability of being involved in a traffic accident...

A)depends solely on the driver's ability.
B)is always independent of the driver.
C)can be reduced by avoiding risk factors.Correct
Recent studies on road accident rates show that there are risk factors and risk groups.
Risk factors are situations that increase the probability of having an accident.
In traffic accidents there are three factors and not all of them have the same impact:
- Human factor (70% - 90%): by avoiding the risk factors that depend on the driver (distractions, speed, fatigue, alcohol, drugs, etc.) the risk of being involved in an accident and avoiding its serious consequences can be reduced.
- Road and environment factor (10% - 35%): this occurs when we do not adapt our driving style to the road or weather conditions.
- Vehicle factor (4% - 13%): this can be avoided by properly maintaining the vehicle.
Risk groups are the most vulnerable people in accidents, such as young people, older drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, children, etc.
