If an injured person is bleeding from the nose due to internal bleeding, how should we act?
A)Placing them with their head forward without plugging the nose.
B)We will not move the injured person's head because they may have spinal injuries.Correct
C)We will plug the nose so that no more blood comes out.
When blood appears from the nose or ears in a traffic accident, it may be an externalised haemorrhage, that is, a haemorrhage that becomes visible externally but whose origin may be in internal organs. In these cases, this blood loss may be due to a skull fracture, indicating an extremely serious situation.
The rescuer's action must be passive, since any movement could aggravate possible injuries, especially spinal ones. Therefore, the haemorrhage must not be plugged nor must the injured person's head be moved; we should limit ourselves to monitoring their general state: breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, and urgently calling the emergency services.
