The sign we see in Image A indicates the approach to a level crossing, swing bridge or quay, depending on the danger warning sign that accompanies it.
The red stripes on the sign indicate the distance at which we are from the danger being signalled:
- 3 stripes Approach (approximately 200 metres).
- 2 stripes Approach (approximately 150 metres).
- 1 stripe Approach (approximately 100 metres).
Also the side. If the lines go from bottom to top to the right, they will be on the right side, whereas if the lines ascend towards the left side, on the left side.
