If you are involved in an accident, must you stop to help restore traffic safety?
A)No, that task is the responsibility of the traffic police.
B)Yes, as far as possible.Correct
C)Only if there are fatalities or seriously injured people.
Any person who witnesses, comes across, or is involved in an accident is obliged to provide assistance and restore traffic safety, when necessary and provided there is no risk to themselves or to third parties. This includes actions such as placing warning signals (V-16 pre-signalling device, hazard lights), checking the condition of those involved, and, if necessary, providing first aid until the emergency services arrive. These actions help prevent the accident from causing further damage or secondary accidents.
Failure to do so will constitute the offence of failure to provide assistance, as defined in the Penal Code. The same applies to people who, although unable to provide help themselves, do not urgently call for the assistance of others.
