To avoid running over cyclists, it is advisable to...
A)increase speed to overtake them as soon as possible.
B)when overtaking them, always leave sufficient lateral separation.Correct
C)sound the horn so they move aside.
When overtaking cyclists, it is very important to leave a sufficient lateral safety separation at all times. This is especially relevant if we drive large vehicles (because of the air gusts we can cause).
When overtaking bicycles, the manoeuvre must be carried out occupying part or all of the adjacent lane of the roadway, except when we have two lanes in our direction, in which case we must move completely to the adjacent lane, provided that the necessary conditions to carry out the overtaking exist. In any case, the lateral separation shall not be less than 1.50 metres.
It is advisable not to make audible signals near cyclists, as they could be startled and become destabilised.
