When reversing, you must bear in mind that...
A)you have priority over pedestrians.
B)you must not travel more than 10 metres.
C)you must do so with the utmost caution, as people may pass behind the vehicle.Correct
Reversing is prohibited as a general rule; exceptionally, it may be done when it is not possible to move forward, change direction, or turn around. In this case there is no distance restriction, although it must always be the minimum strictly necessary. If necessary, an intersection may be entered.
Reversing may also be used as a complement to manoeuvres for joining traffic, stopping, and parking. In this case a maximum of 15 metres may be covered and an intersection may not be entered.
On motorways and dual carriageways it is completely prohibited to:
- Change direction of travel, except in places designated for that purpose.
- Reverse.
- Enter the central reservation or its transverse crossings.
The reversing manoeuvre must be carried out with the utmost caution, stopping the vehicle as quickly as possible if the presence of another vehicle, person, or animal is detected, or as soon as safety requires it, abandoning the manoeuvre if necessary.
