Is it correct to reverse in order to change the direction of travel?
A)Yes, if other drivers are not obstructed.
B)Yes, if no more than 15 metres are covered in reverse.
C)No.Correct
A driver intending to reverse the direction of travel must choose a suitable location to carry out the manoeuvre so that the road is blocked for the shortest possible time, signal their intention with the required signals with sufficient advance notice, and make sure they will not endanger or obstruct other road users. Otherwise, they must refrain from performing the manoeuvre and wait for the right moment to do so. When remaining on the carriageway while waiting to perform the manoeuvre prevents vehicles behind from continuing, they must, if possible, move off it to the right until traffic conditions allow the manoeuvre to be carried out. The manoeuvre must be completed in a single turn without using reverse gear. If this is not possible, changing the direction of travel is prohibited.
