When a stop caused by an emergency occurs inside a tunnel, it is compulsory to...
A)leave the engine running and the key in the ignition.
B)have all occupants remain inside the vehicle at all times.
C)switch off the engine, activate the hazard warning signal and keep the sidelights on.Correct
If the breakdown allows you to continue, you must exit the tunnel or underpass; if that is not possible, steer the vehicle towards the nearest emergency area (lay-by); otherwise, immobilise the vehicle on the right-hand edge. You must also:

- Switch off the engine, leave the sidelights on and activate the hazard warning lights.
- Place the pre-warning danger device, a self-powered (battery) yellow device with geolocation that must be placed as high as possible on the immobilised vehicle to ensure maximum visibility.
- Request assistance via the emergency post and follow the instructions given through it.
- Abandon the vehicle and make your way to the nearest refuge or exit, without walking along the carriageway if there are areas excluded from vehicle traffic.
