Before reversing, you must check that...
A)you are not going to travel more than 50 metres.
B)you have sufficient visibility, only.
C)you can do so without causing danger to other road users, with the help of another person's guidance if necessary.Correct
Vehicles are designed to travel normally forwards. When a vehicle travels in reverse, the driver usually does not have a good view of the outside. For this reason, you must check that there is indeed no danger or obstacle in your path, assisted, if necessary, by another person who can guide you.
As a general rule, reversing is prohibited, except in the following cases on an exceptional basis and always covering the minimum indispensable distance:
1. As a complementary manoeuvre for stopping, parking or joining traffic. In this case, the reversing distance must not exceed 15 metres or encroach on a road junction.
2. When it is not possible to move forward or change direction or sense of travel. In this case there is no limit on the reversing distance, even being able to encroach on a road junction if necessary.
The reversing manoeuvre is prohibited on dual carriageways and motorways.
