As a general rule, drivers have priority of passage for their vehicles over animals, except in the following cases:
- On drovers' roads (cañadas) that are duly signposted.
- When they are about to turn their vehicle to enter another road and there are animals crossing it, even if there is no crossing for them.
- When the vehicle crosses a hard shoulder along which animals are travelling that do not have a drovers' road available.
General drovers' roads or livestock passes shall be indicated by means of supplementary panels bearing the inscription CAÑADA placed below the domestic animal crossing sign.
