Position lights must switch on automatically when the vehicle has the dipped headlight, main beam, or fog light switched on. When driving, they must always be used together with one of these. We must switch them on between sunset and sunrise, or under meteorological or environmental conditions that reduce visibility: * When stopped or halted on the carriageway or hard shoulder of any road, including tunnels, underpasses or enclosed areas. * Also when parked on: - The non-trafficable hard shoulder of an interurban road. - The carriageway or hard shoulder of an insufficiently lit through road. - The carriageway or hard shoulder of an urban road, when the lighting does not allow other road users to distinguish the vehicle at a sufficient distance.
