It is still daytime, but the sun has already set. What lights should you switch on?
A)It is prohibited to switch on the lights when it is daytime.
B)The position lights are sufficient.
C)The dipped headlights (low beam).Correct
You cannot drive using only the position lights. We always need the position light plus some other light to accompany it. The dipped headlight (low beam) is intended to illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle at night without dazzling or disturbing drivers coming in the opposite direction or other road users. All motor vehicles and mopeds travelling between sunset and sunrise on sufficiently lit urban or interurban roads, or at any time of day through tunnels and other road sections affected by the tunnel sign that are sufficiently lit, must have them switched on. In addition to the position lights, the dipped headlights must be switched on. Likewise, these lights must be switched on in built-up areas when the road is insufficiently lit. (Main beam headlights in a built-up area are prohibited.) Dipped headlights shall also be used when any of the following circumstances apply: - When main beam headlights are not available and it is necessary to use them. - When travelling at a speed not exceeding 40 kilometres per hour and main beam headlights are not being used. - When there is a possibility of dazzling other road users. - When travelling on any type of road and in circumstances where visibility is significantly less than normal, such as in fog, heavy rain, snowfall, clouds of smoke or dust, or any other similar circumstance, dipped headlights shall also be used. Lights will make us more visible to other road users, so whenever in doubt it is preferable to switch them on.
